In 2023, the main focus of hotel revenue teams will be on corporate and groups

Duetto’s annual travel data Trends & Predictions Survey 2023 has revealed that corporate and business are the two segments most revenue teams will focus on for the year ahead. The Duetto Outlook & Trends 2023 Survey revealed that corporate and business are the main revenue segments revenue teams will be focusing on in the coming year. We surveyed revenue professionals and hoteliers around the globe and spoke with industry experts to get their thoughts on 2023. Duetto CEO David Woolenberg said that changes in guest behavior, staffing challenges and new technological innovations are all shaping hospitality industry.

Corporate business – 51.9%

Channel management – 48.1%

OTAs – 38%

Wholesale, tour operator, FITs – 30.4%

Others also mentioned increasing revenue per guest, segmentation and length of stay as key factors in revenue management in 2023. However, many already believe that business travel will not return to the 2019 levels. According to the survey, 60.8% of respondents said that business travel will return in 2023.

Staffing – 55.7%

Costs rise by 53.2%

Restrictions imposed by the government – 45.6%

Lead times – 43%

With 36.7%, cancellations came in sixth.

The Duetto Outlook & Trends 2023 Survey also surveyed market sentiment in terms technology investment. 82.3% of those surveyed already used a revenue management software (RMS). 72.2% of those surveyed said that their hotel tech spending had increased or stayed the exact same in 2022. Looking ahead, 60.8% expected their hotel tech spend to increase in the next three years.The survey included input from revenue managers, property-level and corporate-level directors of revenue management, revenue consultants, revenue and distribution analysts, and property general managers.Most respondents (51.9%) worked in leisure hotels, but there was also good representation from business hotels, casino resorts, and hostels.Geographically, respondents came from North America (39.5%), Europe (21.1%), Latin America (21.1%), APAC (14.5), and the Middle East & Africa (3.9%).Duetto conducted this survey among its software users and other hospitality industry professionals including revenue consultants and educators from across the globe from December 1, 2022, to January 16, 2023.
